How Intel extends AI to embedded edge devices

Building upon its extensive deployment of over 90000 edge devices, Intel has launched a series of edge optimized processors and GPUs to power the next generation of AI enabled edge devices.
Edge facing Intel Core Ultra processors: Compared to Intel ® CoRE ™ Compared to the 14th generation desktop processors, the Intel Core Ultra processor can provide up to 5.02 times image classification inference performance. This processor combines the flexibility of Intel Ruixuan graphics card 2, neural network processing unit (NPU) 3, and LGA slot to form a simplified system on chip (SoC). This new system chip is designed to open the door to generative AI (GenAI) and processing complex graphic workloads at the edge for retail, education, smart cities, and industrial customers. It includes self-service devices and intelligent sales terminals that support GenAI in physical retailers, interactive whiteboards that enhance classroom experience, and AI visually enhanced industrial equipment for manufacturing and roadside units.
Edge facing Intel Core processors: Intel Core processors combine 13th generation Intel ® CoRE ™ The GPU capability of mobile processors and the flexibility of LGA slots prioritize system scalability and deployment speed. Compared to the 13th generation Intel ® CoRE ™ Compared to desktop processors, this series of edge optimized processors can provide up to 2.57 times graphics performance. By utilizing up to 3x graphics execution units and equipped with Intel ® The high-performance hybrid architecture of hardware thread scheduler 5 and its design based on LGA slots provide customers with more edge AI and graphics performance without sacrificing hardware setup flexibility.
Intel Lingdong ® Processor x7000C Series: The Intel Xeon processor x7000C series provides enhanced processor baseband across up to 8 energy efficient cores, delivering excellent packet processing throughput for enterprise networks and telecommunications devices. This enables telecommunications companies to support zero day threat detection through built-in deep learning inference capabilities, improve OpenSSL/IPSec packet and control plane processing capabilities using native instruction sets, and reinforce networks with Intel’s security features.
Intel Lingdong ® Processor x7000RE Series: The Intel Xerox processor x7000RE series features built-in deep learning inference capabilities and up to 32 graphics execution units, utilizing robust and energy-efficient 6W-12W BGA packaging technology, primarily designed for industrial and manufacturing end users. Compared to the Intel Xeon processor x6000RE series, the image classification performance of this series of processors has improved by up to 9.83 times. This new processor supports fanless design and can achieve Industry 4.0 automation, suitable for key use cases in AI automated tallying, warehouse AMR, quality control online visual inspection, and reinforced industrial PC scenarios.
In addition, Intel’s edge oriented approach ® Ruixuan ™ The graphics card also enhances performance and edge AI capabilities by providing accelerated AI, media, and graphics processing capabilities on traditional Intel Core systems. The Intel Ruixuan graphics card also eliminates vendor lock-in issues through an open, standard based software stack, providing choices and flexibility for building high-performance AI applications and solutions.

Release the powerful performance of the Agilex 5 E series through Quartus Prime Pro Edition software version 24.1: Altera’s latest advanced software is now available for download and provides free access to the latest Agilex 5 E series SoC FPGA and selected complementary IP cores. Quartus provides a simplified experience, configurable example designs, and excellent features for IP centric design processes, including the powerful new Agilex 5 SoC subsystem (its hardcore processor system with dual core Arm Cortex A76, dual core Arm Cortex A55 processors, and various peripherals).
